Acerca de Luis Alonso Díaz Robles
I am the CEO of PARTICULAS SpA (www.particulaspa.com) and MIMASoft (www.mimasoft.com). Previously, I was a Full Professor in the Department of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering at the University of Santiago de Chile. I also held the positions of Dean of the College of Engineering and Vice-Rector of Administration and Economic Affairs at the Catholic University of Temuco. I hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Air Quality from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA, complemented by a specialization in Applied Statistics. My expertise centers on innovation, leadership, and development and research in air quality and sustainable waste valorization. I have led and participated in numerous national and international projects and consulting services in areas such as emission inventories, emission factors, air quality modeling, air quality forecasting using artificial intelligence and numerical models, atmospheric pollution control, climate change, carbon footprint, water footprint, ESG, renewable energy impact assessment, and health risk assessment. In the last decade, we have secured more than 100 services, especially in the mining and industrial sectors in countries such as Chile, Spain, South Africa, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. I have published over 78 scientific articles in ISI/Scopus indexed journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings. Additionally, I have founded several companies and startups focused on air quality and sustainability. My passion lies in finding solutions to environmental challenges and generating social and economic value through science and technology. I maintain national and international collaborations with institutions such as the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Rottenburg in Germany, the University of Tennessee, RTI International, and the Desert Research Institute (DRI) in the United States. My career is characterized by an integrated and collaborative approach, oriented towards the application of innovative solutions in air quality and sustainability. I am committed to creating a positive impact on society and the environment, using my experience and knowledge to address the most urgent environmental challenges of our time. My vision is to lead the change towards a more sustainable future, driven by science and global collaboration.
